Character Cards will only give you more Item and Gold (in the Bank) space, and not much else outside of an extended meatpack that can hold your Tradeable/Petable items outside of Service.
I could create dozens of accounts with free Bank-space extension without paying at all, except for the Mail Fees (nonexistant if you have someone to hold the item)/spending more time transferring. And having a metric ton of untradable/personalized items isn't a good thing, so unable to trade to store in alts isn't a problem combined with Special Inventory.
Pets last forever without needing Service for their full extent, although giving less space with that Inventory and half of a Bank tab, actually help outside of being a storage tank. (In example: Pet Revolver, a Second hand, Aggro, Inventory when not near a Bank, especially with a lot of pets)
I just love pets, that and my bias of already using free acounts.
Spoiler:
Additional characters can hold more than just tradeable/petable items, they can also hold account bound items, part time job items for life skills, cash shop items, dungeon passes, courcle artifacts, etc. And if you want to waste loads of time jotting down account info, trying to remember what is where, and then juggling the mailbox system (or waste other people's time holding for you) then go ahead and use alt accounts. Even without service, mule characters are still better inventory/cost ratio. Having service boosts their inventory almost 3x, in addition to additional advance play items (dyes usually create more income than the average going rate of nx) and additional event rewards (which is also free money/rares). Meanwhile actually being cheaper than some pets. Having them as 'mobile banks' also isn't much of a big deal if you're organized and don't carry around useless junk, and even then a lot of the gameplay is centralizing around towns with banks now anyways.
You don't need more than 10 pets to pet revolver. And I hardly know anybody at all with more than 10 pets that actually use 11 pets in battle. Or even moreso, if you need more than 10 pets in any given battle before being able to revive the others, you must really suck at fighting.
People just get sunk into the hype of 'limited pets' or tricked into thinking they're worth it. Optimally you'd want 1-2 flying mounts (fast and/or 2-seater), 1 fast land mount, and then 7-8 aoe pets (which are all mounts). Maybe add in a combat type pet (fast attack, high mp, or high damage) and/or snake, for a total of 12. Considering you could have already gotten 3+ Flamemares from events, pets are really just a money trap.
So yea, pets are grossly overrated. And I mostly meant character cards for rebirths, but the fact they're betting in virtually every way than pets for storage is good too.
...Who else gets the feeling this is a trap so they can find the hottest item..lower the price..then set it higher than before and act like we wont notice.. ._.;

I'm sure enough people buy whatever of something the most enough to notice, so it's kind of impossible to not notice. I don't think there will be any price rises.
..The only time it rises feels like when it comes to us after the overseas get them.

If it's a trap, hahaha.
I'm gonna buy all three Flamemares ... And possibly some huge inv. pets, or spam dyes pwetty much.
By the end of this, I would think that Dyes would win this discount.
We will see, I wonder what would be the most popular

To the items, I said the Tradeable/Petable items because later on I said "unless they have Service", which included all of the Untradeable stuff they could switch out between their paid Bank tabs.
After setting up the free accounts it's not hard; it only takes writing down what general item that character has + any off item, then their password(s)/username(s) if it's not so easy to remember and saving it somewhere.
Having saved hundreds of dollars off on Character Cards alone because of the free ones is worth every second too.
Yeah, only ~10 pets are really used during combat. But if in a tough situation and for some reason most of the pets are dead without being able to revive while fighting (especially during a Play Dead with Pet Revolver), it's something like; "No problem bro, take this second tab of pets."
Personally, it is nice to have Pets for so many things that may come up even outside of fighting.
Spoiler:
"Darn, I forget my CP gear and I already used a pass."
*takes out CP gear pet*
"Blasted fountain took all of my Fullness and I can't Transform."
*whips out portable Milk dispenser*
Need Instruments? Herbs? Potions? Am I the only one who brought a Handicraft Kit and Cheap Leathers Straps? Numbnuts. Equipment? Or do you just need that temporary Gold Bag for that Huge Lucky? No problem, I got this.

once you have more than 10 aoe pets hotkey'd all the rest is absolute shit and a total waste of money. And this is coming from the person that spams pet revolver when leveling alts
Its true that pets can be used in combat however alts:
>108 inv spaces without service 156 with service. Good for that stuff that people never use but just keep around just cause
>if there's an event going on that has a 24 hr cooldown you can just jump on alt to get more rewards (like black dragon event)
>can place alts in multiple locations to repair and buy stuff (place alt on granat/edern > transfer weapon through pet > repair)
>>can use the same method to rank skills, for example one alt placed on the beach doing metallurgy while main is doing metal convert/refining
>if you have vip you can get adv play rewards on all characters

No.
Spoiler:
Everything that follows are things which I think that I didn't cover in my previous post.

Same for the free ones, it's easy.

The free Elf and Giant card serve that without needing to buy any more characters.

I do not make an alt for any certain skill, such as for Metallurgy.
Ranking up my main character > Spacing out skills between characters, when I could get the statuses and skills for myself.
I could use the alt's AP instead of my own, but I'm using up training time on them when it could be for me, and when I'm going to rank them up on my main character anyway.
