I'm still wondering why they decided to remake it when the first movies were already good enough.

Because it's hard to continue making Spiderman movies (let alone tie him into the upcoming Avengers franchise) when every movie he's in has him killing off each and every one of his longterm villains. Dead Venom + Dead Doc Oc = really?

A couple of my friends who were thoroughly dissatisfied with the first trilogy had a list of reasons why they weren't against a reboot. Not that they're 100% on board with the current reboot mind you, but one of them did say something along the lines of this:

Say what you will about how the reboot looks, but that small knife scene made them realize something about the first trilogy--Toby McGuire's Spiderman never once told a joke in costume, not once. While playing a superhero whose wise cracks and their correlation with super villain insanity were only surpassed by Freakazoid.

But personally I'm opposed to more modern spiderman movies.
