If you level a pet at a late age, it doesn't really gain stats anymore. But it's worth leveling up dragons anyways so their breath skill gets ranked up. The thunder dragon could have not been leveled up that high when it was first obtained, thus your ice dragon wasn't fighting what you would expect from something that's level sixty.

It's pretty much this most of time when you level a pet at its youngest it will gain better stats then on trained later on.

Make sure you grind every pet to 50 on the first week for maximum potential. They become so stupid strong.

Getting a pet to level 50 at age 10 is pointless. They'll still be meat sacks.
