But this new system gives all races new defensive options
Instaload WM, Counter, and defense 8D

You know I never thought about the connection. It's gonna be tough for players with a bad connections to pull of some sort of combo in the middle of combat.

Well I assume counter stays on until you run out of stam,
Lance Counter on the other hand had "instaload," before, and was still pretty hard to time. Some mobs just end up running at you, stop, and load counter or defense

Lance counter never had instant load. It was around .3 seconds, which, no mater what your connection, can be far too long. I cant count how many times I've hit lance counter just to be smacked in the face anyway. *sigh*

I really don't understand why they haven't just put a 1 second load time on smash, and reduce it's cooldown by 1 second. It'd solve the problem of support-smashing

The thing is that it should be a supported smash for a party member, not a selfish smash boost for yourself. All it really needs is to be made so that only other players can receive the bonus... and maybe have it's aim speed mega buffed so it's more practical to use.

Nobody uses Support Shot right now. The buff isn't strong enough to warrant usage in most situations, especially since the average melee character is apparently oblivious to the simple fact that "blue smoke = extra damage".
Support Shot either needs a stronger damage buff that doesn't affect your character or they need to make the support shot effect disappear when you switch weapons. I'm pretty certain that given the choice between helping support the melee characters and spamming Magnum Shot a million times, most rangers will do the latter...and for good reason.

I think the largest reason people don't use SS is because it only affects one attack. It would be better if it lasted like say 5~10 secs and all melee attacks from anyone that isn't you would be boosted.

For SS, It should do slightly more, and work for every attack type, BUT, not effect YOUR dmg. That's what I think anyway.
