So according to what Nexon said a while ago.
G17 is supposed to take place in the upcomming summer in KR. It's supposed to be a gigantic update involving quite a bit of stuff.
I speculate that there will be a very large revamp on quite a few things such as dungeons, skills, etc and the opening of Tory Revine and the pirate's den. There may very well be a new system included as well judging by the expression nexon gave in the Q&A about the update later this summer.
Do you have high hopes for this upcomming update?

Well, they do have to re-vamp a lot of the old content soon because most of it just severely outdated. Usually updates are good so far. I haven't really seen updates that actually hurt the game yet.

I always welcome new updates, DevCat has never failed to impress me in any of their games (that's right, all...both of them). Dungeon revamp would be nice, as well as older combat systems (they seem a bit lack-luster compared to alchemy and fighter). Do wish they'd add more melee and ranged weapons, and heck a few more spells wouldn't hurt (we need advanced fire, lightning, and healing since hailstorm added a new tier of magic). Any news on what the quest line will be?

G17 should be a fairly major update. After all, it is a new chapter.
I agree with everyone else. Hopefully they overhaul existing content and work towards balancing a number of different systems in the PVE metagame. I seem to remember someone mentioning some sort of future alchemy update in one of those interviews posted on gameabout.
It also wouldn't hurt for them to raise the level cap on spirit weapons.

I know I'm probably really late to the party in asking this, but since we're getting C5, does that mean that there'll be a new director as well? Or did they decide to stop that tradition?
I'd also love to see some old content updates. Mostly for stuff that's already been suggested like dungeon revamps, and the like.

Would be nice if in ch5 they make mabinogi more unique instead of trying to make it more like other MMO's. qq

I'm not really sure what you're talking about? So far Mabinogi is the most unique game I've ever seen. The combat is innovative with different skills trumping others, unique fighting methods like fighter (somewhwat unique) and alchemy (super unique). The life skills are also very different, especially stuff like music. The storylines are great and unique (seriously, behind Runescape and maybe the later parts of Vindictus this game has the greatest storylines of any MMO). Never have I seen Shakespeare implemented into a game, and if you ask me, it worked quite well in Mabi. Commerce isn't overwhelmingly common, nor are minigames such as rafting, hot-air ballooning, and wine making. The list goes on and on.
No, I don't think they're making it like other MMOs at all. And that's the reason I play it.

Can you link me to this Q&A?
It's just always great to have a source.

Yeah Mabinogi is unique. Its different. Its what makes you come back to the game after you take a break and play another game. I guess you get bored of the repetitiveness of it where Mabi can be repetitive but in a way you want it to be. :D

There was a video a while ago with the devteam sitting at a desk explaining their plans for the summer update in KR, not sure what happened to it.
