In game moderators, and how they won't work with nexon's games.

Having to have played maplestory when they recruited their MLWB or whatever moderators to patrol the game, I can honestly say Nexon's way of maintaining a moderator group in game will not work.

Why?

Because even with the higher priority ticket spam these mods send forward to nexon, they still won't have the decency to review those who abuse the terms of service. Instead, from what I've observed over time, the moderators who were supposed to have some sort of 3rd party eye on those who abuse various aspects of the game have become nothing but figureheads with flashy titles that won't mean anything except event beacons for the masses to crowd around for free items or to suck up to those who think they have power, but really don't. Even now, you got kids duping shit left and right, hacking others, dc hacking everyone within a map's distance from a boss and there's nothing anyone can do.

This will not change in Mabinogi once Nexon sends fourth their little deviants to watch over everyone. They'll hide and blend in with us in Dunbarton, and they'll watch the hackers and modders fly around spamming dragon meteor storms, but they'll do nothing! They'll just be names nexon called out in a bulletin on the main website and that'll be it, they'll be humorless unsocial drones sent by nexon to babysit a bunch of kids who'll just shit all over anything without any consequence.

So good going nexon.

Its a step in the right direction. It might be what you say or it might be better.

I think of it this way. Two things they are adding that we suggested as a good move.

NA test server for bugs.
In game mods to help with problems.

Nexon has been improving lately and I am glad for it.

Everything that happens in maple does not translate to Mabi. Lets give them a shot to not screw it up. I will be a vocal critic if they do it wrong.

The thing is, they don't want the Mabi group's names to be revealed. I mean, didn't Sabina say that if you were selected as a voluteer mod, you weren't allowed to reveal you did get it or else you would lose the position?

Not to be offensive, but you're not really a credible source.
If they pick well known, responsible members of the community, there shouldn't be a problem. Not to mention most the players on Mabi are older than those on Maplestory.
If anything you should be more worried about people power tripping...

Pretty sure it was stated that these player moderators will be anonymous (on their own characters, probably), unlike MapleStory's Leaf Brigade, where each member was announced.

So no, there's no guarantee it will be as ineffective.
