The buyer is not entitled to a refund. OP is in no way unjust or wrong for refusing it - who's to say part of the money wasn't already spent by then? Furthermore, the buyer didn't handle it remarkably well. Their message to OP can be considered a threat - so basically you're saying that this person who lacked any sort of foresight, and then threatened OP over a fair trade, was somehow in the right?

Hm. Mitsu... I'm with you on the first 2 sentences... but then we have very different ways of reading the messages from the buyer. Optimistic view notes that they asked if a refund was possible. Is there something inherently wrong with asking if a refund is possible?
Considering a comment about karma as a threat, is about as much of a stretch as considering a comment about possible rain meaning that the person intends to flood your house (presumably through a garden hose). It's an observation. If he had said, "I'll make sure that you get what's coming to you" then that's a threat. But saying something like "Someday someone's gonna get you like you got me" is not a threat. It may not be a loving and pleasant observation, but it's just stating something. With a medium of communication that is only text, you have to work to put threat into a statement or to find it there. With voice it's a lot easier to use a menacing tone, and turn something as innocent as "Hello" into something that sounds threatening (but still does not constitute a threat).

It's apparent that person handled the situation without grace if they had to tell OP to worry about karma - simply for making a fair and honest transaction. Rain is a natural occurrence, if someone comments on the weather I don't believe there's much room to interpret it as a threat. But to state that karma will somehow hurt the OP shows that the buyer believes OP did something wrong; it's clear however that OP did nothing wrong.
Given the state of the game and the fact that pake is still working to an extent, it's not unreasonable to be cautious of a person who is acting unreasonably because they did not get their way after wanting to go back on a trade. Suggesting OP will be punished for a slight they never committed shows the buyer was bitter and is at the very least wishing bad on someone who doesn't deserve it. In my opinion, that person deserves no sympathy.
