Noisy GPU fans...

Such a pain in the ass. My GPU fan started making crap-tons of noise awhile ago (like, last year) so I took it off and stuck a case fan on the plastic housing where the old fan was. However this made the card so massive that I couldn't have my TV Tuner in.

Fast forward to yesterday I re-oiled the old fan and put it back in, along with the TV Tuner, and it was nice and quiet. Then today it started making crap-tons of noise again, so I took the old fan out and put the replacement back on, and now I can't play PS2/GC games again.

Anyone have a repeated headdesk animation gif?

Find a similar GPU model on ebay- dead or alive doesn't matter as long as the fan works.

Transplant the good fan onto your current GPU- or if the replacement GPU is alive just use it as-is.

I'm poor (sort of) thats why I didn't buy a new GPU yet.

Check the cause for why the fan makes noise. Is it just loose? Too much crap/dust on it making it off-balance? Is the casing around it damaged?
As long as it's not a broken fan blade or bearing you can usually silence the fan.
