It is possible that climate change could lead to increased wildfire rates though. Changing climates results in shifting biomes, which could lead to forests becoming deserts- a process that would almost certainly involve wildfires destroying existing forests.
But to date most scientists are hesitant to make a statement about if that is really happening or not. It is generally believed that climate change takes hundreds if not thousands of years to happen, we haven't been collecting data long enough to be certain any more than that there is indeed a natural progression of climate shifts that may or may not have been altered by our activities.
