unable to connect to the internet

I'm at a motel right now, and we're like the only guests here
They have free WiFi and it says my sister's laptop is connected but the internet won't work
I troubleshooted and it said "the remote device or resource won't accept the connection"

Maybe you have an IP static'd and forgot to remove it so it's conflicting?

You're probably aware of this, but just in case, I thought I should mention that most commercial access points require you to open a browser and authenticate yourself (either by username/pw, or by clicking that you agree to the terms) before they let you connect to anything outside their internal webpage. The webpage should come up automatically when you load the browser. Skype, etc will not get a connection until you do that.

Anything else.. chances are there's a problem on their end and you can do nothing about it other than complain to them.
