I hope you guys don't mind the necro (since it is a sticky'd thread) but I have a question about one of the tutorials. Hope someone can 'assist'.
For the Abstract Sig by tonkpills666 the 3rd (or 4th) step says Filter > Distort > Displace.
When I attempt to displace, I get a window with options, i just press Ok with default options set up (10/10/Stretch/Repeat Edge), but then another window asking me to open the a PSD file appears. What?
/looks at guide, says nothing of this.
/looks at comments, everyone seems to be doing fine.
/wut?
Kinda lost here, anyone know what I'm doing wrong or what if I'm missing something? I'm assuming I'm suppose to save my current image and use that as the PSD for displacing?

Photoshop uses a second image to displace the image you're currently working on. So no you're not doing anything wrong just pick a second image(any image) and use it. Haven't used it in awhile but i think you can use jpeg's.
Scratch that you do need a PSD :S.

Lol. Dang. I guess I'll have to try out some random PSD files on my computer or try saving the C4D as a PSD as well.
If anyone figures/finds out any specifics, let me/us know.
Gotta go sleep, I'll check back up tomorrow.

Because you need a displacement map for the layer to displace to :v
Here's a couple tuts about displacing to get you understanding what it does

Not sure what he used in the tut you are looking, probably the C4D.
