Gotta say, thank you very much for these guides, Chaos. I put off mastering the Life skills till I had enough DEX to not fail horribly at it, but it's almost time, I think.
I am hugely grateful for the adjusted Refining system however. Back before I left the game I stalled at rA and just went DAMMIT I DON'T NEED THIS *** (this coming from a DEX based elf archer who couldn't fail iron ingots with all the enchants) ... now, I may just pick it up again : < here's to unlimited metallurgy works.
half way done with smithing guide, just wondering but can anyone confirm if iron bar can be use as weapon/tool success and completion at r9 training?

Bars, arrow/bolt heads, anvils, etc don't count towards any BS requirements. I believe weapon/tool requirements has to be something you can equip.
i'll test this out with iron bar later. or maybe mythril bar later and see if its counts or not. i was sure someone told me that it does and it did worked for completion at least ...
Iron bars don't count as a tool o.o it's really just another material. Also, i can vouch for that since i've been making bars for handi, my r9 smithing is still 0
blacksmithing guide is more or less completed. gonna finish the exp 2 hammer chart, color code everything and make it look pretty -3-
Attempting a cooking and potion making guide. Just started it so yea ... at least i got tips done ^^;;;
