Something more realistic would be like..
Galactic Grunt : HEY YOU. INTRUDER! *grabs and throws out, taking pokemon*

Trainer would just use his or her pokemon before they are taken away to physically take down / abuse the grunt.

My point is, everything is decided by completely irrelevant pokemon battles when the pokemon could just attack the player ._.
Also pokemon attacks like to explode in clouds of smoke and such even when there's nothing to burn .___. Like, someone uses metal claw on a bird in midair -> BOOM SMOKE OMG -> smoke clears, etc.
Truth be told pokemon in general doesn't have to make sense, I mean come on, what kind of parent let's their 10 year old journey across entire countries by himself?

sure, ill team up will some 10 year old kid and get the snot kicked out of me every tournament because hes a terrible trainer!
