I got a pair of Fleet Feet today. Having done various experiments with movement speed bonuses before I was quite excited to get "+20%"... then I put them on and thought "there's no way this is +20%". So I decided that it's finally time to test player movement speeds in-game.
I used an updated version of my data reading table to track my character's coordinates in-game (with CE set to update the values every 500ms). I logged on with each playable race and then oriented the camera to face north as well as I could (testing via the y-axis changes upon movement) and making sure I would not pass any map segment boundaries. I then recorded the coordinates while I held down the W key to run straight forward. After this I noted the coordinates at each 500ms update (so double the difference would give the units per second).
Humans move at ~380 units per second.
Elves move at ~500 units per second.
Giants move at ~450 units per second.
Human (Fleet Feet) is ~424 units per second.
Human (Alpaca Robe) is ~460 units per second.
Human (fleet+robe) is ~504 units per second.
So if Humans are 100% move speed, then...
Elves are 131.58% the speed of humans.
Giants are 118.42% the speed of humans.
Fleet feet are 111.58% movement speed.
Alpaca Robes are 121% movement speed.
Feet + Robes are 132% movement speed.
(If anybody on Ruairi has Fleet Feet for females, a commerce speed reforge (either gender), or a Wave Sweeper I can borrow for further testing, I'll put the numbers up here.)
And finally to confirm that Fleet Feet are definitely not +20% (because this is Mabi), I went into my HS with somebody and had them apply a +15% from March Song. I then exited the party, overwrite the buff, put fleet feet on, and ran with them to the other side of my HS. They were faster.
