Shield Skills for Hammer Fiona

Hey I was wondering if theres any point to ranking shield related skills such as Shield Mastery and Guard if one plans to convert to a Hammer build? And if there isn't, should I just restart? I've already got B mastery and B guard as well as some Heavy Stander.

Oh and another question, does regular Shield Mastery benefit Kite/Large Shields at all? And vice versa?

whut. Of course ranking shield related skills is important, no matter what weapon you are going to specialize in. Shields are what makes Fiona own hard. You are still going to use heavy stander, guard, counter attack, shield bash, charge, etc with a hammer. o.o

And no shield mastery does not benefit large shields.

Aren't Hammers 2handed though o_o; Maybe I've gone insane... thats usually the case

They are one handed lawl :V Fiona sometimes holds it with two hands to strike though, but she's pro, she can do that fine with a shield :V

Anything held by Fiona is 1handed.

So, when large shield comes out, we should leave get minimum amount of Shield Mastery, and get Large Shield Mastery instead?

From what I heard, you can't use Counter with large shields.
So you should switch between them based off if the boss has smashes or not.

Yeah, you won't specialize in one and one only here. You'll be taking a large shield to raids, and a regular shield to everything else.

Too many people seem to think that we're going to be forced to choose between equipment. Always keep up to date on having your best Spears AND swords with you so you can modify your attacks to suit your run.

In Fiona's case, keep both Hammer and Longsword handy, along with both sizes of shields.
