Warning: Not approved by anyone but me. :awesome:
Each Whenever The Hell I Feel Like, I will post a problemsolving brain teaser.
-----------------------------
THE SWITCHER BRAIN TEASER.
Lets say there are five people in front of you. Your goal: Find how to find the Truth Teller.
RULES AND STUFF:
YOU MUST SHOW YOUR WORK.
YOU MAY ONLY ASK TWO QUESTIONS TO THE META-PEOPLE. YOU MAY ONE TO TWO PEOPLE, OR TWO TO ONE PERSON.
A SWITCHER WILL ALWAYS SWITCH BETWEEN TELLING THE TRUTH OR A LIE EVERY TIME YOU ASK THEM. YOU DO NOT KNOW IF THEY ARE TELLING THE TRUTH OR NOT.
FOUR PEOPLE ARE SWITCHERS. ONLY ONE IS THE TRUTH TELLER.
THE FIRST PERSON TO PM ME THE CORRECT METHOD OF FINDING THE TRUTH TELLER WILL BE PUT UP ON THE NEXT TEASER THREAD.
Ask your questions.
The prize: 500 Nation gold! Hopefully I can get this funded by a moderator.
Edit: Yay! I got funded.

We can ask an unlimited amount of questions, but only 2 at a time?

What do they respond with when they lie?
Is it an opposite response (e.g. No instead of Yes).

No, max amount of two questions.

It is simply a lie, therefore you must word your questions carefully. (Also, for yes/no questions, it is an opposite response.)

Do they lie willfully or is it just like, they tell the truth, then a lie, then the truth, then a lie, ect.?
Is it a pattern or just up to their whimsy?
Also does me asking this help me solve the problem or does it have nothing to do with the answer?

This is a pattern. They are hired to say a false answer after a truthful one, and a truthful answer after a false answer.
For the second part, I shall not tell you.

I've got 2 questions.
1) Are the 5 man all able to hear the responses the others made or are they completely oblivious of the other's responses?
2) Are we allowed to PM you more than one solution?

Yes, but I preferr you do a max of two PMs. I will only judge a person correct if their LATEST one is correct.
For question 1, yes, all five people are able to hear the responses the other made, but remember, only two questions in total to the people are allowed.

Disreguard this post. I realized I made a mistake in my logic
[s]I think I have a solution, but I need to ask one more question. Are you allowed to move the 5 people around in a physical space (ie. forming a circle or a straight line) or are you only allowed to ask them questions and nothing else?[/s]

I realized that the answer I came up with can be re-worded to form 4 different answers.
And they all only need 1 question.
The fact that I only have to ask one question makes me feel like my answer is somehow wrong.

Do they lie completely or can they half-lie if they are switchers?
I.E., can they tell something that is partially true, but also partially false?

No, it must be a complete lie.
