Ok so I've had this printer for around a year now and recently it's been streaking on the far left side of the page, but only when it's black ink. Also, when using blue ink, it streaks on the mid-left side. I've tried cleaning, aligning, and replacing the cartridges, all multiple times... It's an HP Deskjet F4180 if it matters...
And then I have a 2nd printer that also has a problem. It's kinda old, and the way it prints makes the 1st line bold, then the 2nd normal, then the 3rd bold, etc. etc., in a document without bold font.
Anyone have any ideas, my teachers are probably starting to hate me for having bad printers @_@

A few things might cause it.
The more obvious is physical problems on the printer itself. If that's the case you'll likely need a new one since it's old (repairing them usually costs more than a new one, especially if the warranty is expired).
Next might be the drivers for them. Since they are old, the drivers you have on any CD that came with them might not be the best match for any recent operating systems like windows 7, or even vista. If this is one of the OSs you have, and you got this printer before (say back in the days of XP), check the manufacturer website for any recent driver downloads for your model.

Rofl that's hilarious, especially since my better printer died on me as I was printing my final essay this morning that was due today. I had to use a school printer =_=
Thanks Osayidan, I thought I might need a new printer. I didn't think about the drivers, I'll try that before getting out my sledgehammer.
