Very very common.
See a lot less in Chinese entertainment though.

Any variety of "dirty jokes" are mostly avoided in Asian entertainment.
Probably more common in Japan though.

They're "buffering" and having playback issues. The best part is they always pick out a song and make loops or pauses where the words in the song start meaning something else when played that way.

He's a professional japanese kick boxer who crossplays touhou characters. People are more worried about him being an otaku than the fact that he crossdressed.

The point is, whats weird in our culture is absolutely normal in another. No one cares there. Likewise, things that are strange in asia can be normal here.

Cross dressing was more frequent in western culture when we look back into history.

Especially for performance arts, where women were not allowed. Men played every role.

Yea, Crossdressing in asian countries is VERY NORMAL. If you think about it too, we crossdress sometimes as well. I didn't go/join, but I know at my high school, we had a womenless beauty pageant. I think mostly frat boys dressing like "cross dressers" rather then trying to be girlish.
