Blizzard Bans Single Player Cheaters

  The biggest difference here is that the in-game editors and cheats don't score you achievements. So why are they using them? For the achievements of course.

  And besides, theres offline mode if you really really want to use the trainer. But the trainer is retarded. Its like giving yourself a handicap. If you really need to worry about your APM, look at it during the replay, not during your actual gameplay. Doesn't help one bit.

  While I agree fundamentally that (for offline, single-player use only) you should be able to mod and alter your program to your heart's content and disabling the ability to play offline for doing so sounds pretty dickish of Blizzard, the facts make that less so. While you -should- have the right to modify your copy of the program offline, it sounds like the in-game options already let you do anything you could possibly want to do that would be considered benign. The third-party programs in question aren't letting you do anything you couldn't already do in game... they're just letting you do it and get past some of the rules Blizzard has decided upon for online play, which are perfectly reasonable.
  
  That said, if you do find some sort of modification or whatever that you absolutely must do to your game that is not possible to do using the existing in-game cheat codes/campaign editor tools and you don't want to use online play, then yeah by all means pirate away. If you want to break the rules, go all out and break them.

  There also happens to be an offline mode and a guest mode. You can mod all you want during that and no one will know. You can activate offline mode once you've logged in.

  I also want to add, you only need to log in once for the offline mode to register, all its doing is checking that the CD key is registered to your account, and every 30 days afterward to renew the guest account if you wish. There is no need to maintain a constant connection to Battle.net (Blizzard's servers). You can just log in, unplugg your connection and keep on playing, with all the mods you want. Next time start SC2 and offline mode is ready to go.
  
  Even after a waiting period the game will ask if you want to go offline if you don't log in.
  
  The campaign editor is very powerful modding tool. Example include that Map where it turned SC2 into the 3rd person shooter. Link Included if you have SC2 for the Map . You can do pretty much anything you wish with it.
