Hi there. I just have two questions =3
1) I want to work on Alchemy so that I can get Royal Alchemist. (Their pose is really cool =D)
I would really appreciate it if anyone could tell me what affects the choosing of the Royal Alchemists the most. (Skills? Journal Accomplishments?)
2) What's the best WEAPON Prefix to maximize overall damage output?
I use 222 Spike Broadswords, and I'm thinking of enchanting a Prefix to it.
Requirements: Must be lower than r9. I don't want the risk of killing dura.
I originally contemplated the thought of using Incubus, but I've gotten really busy and couldn't find myself to master defense. I'll probably get to it after Jobs come out in G13.
Thanks for your help!!

1)I heard the more AP you pump into Alchemy the greater your chances(don't take my word for it though), and that Journal points don't have too much of an effect on your chances of becoming RA.
2) I'd guess Goddess' is easy to enchant and cheap-ish. Dunno if there are any others(doesn't keep up with new content :<).
Edit: Can try Lion Hunter's or Shocking, but Shocking is 5x repair, and the former is from Ciar Adv HM... D:
Edit2: Diamond and Wolf Hunter are the only cheeeeap low rank ones I can recall :c

Thanks for your answer, but
Shadow Hunter is r5, hard and risky to enchant on Spike 222 Broadswords
Goddess is, as I said, too expensive to maintain
Lion Hunter has too high of a requirement, as well as being hard to obtain

Goddess and a broadsword isn't that hard to maintain. Its only 5.4k a point which isn't that much when you compare it to other weapons with Goddess, caliburn or Obsidian on it.

True, but if I wanted a broadsword with x10 multiplying enchants, I might as well use Goddess Caliburn

1. Alchemy skills is your best bet, to get in. But to maintain it you want points as well.
2. Fox. Nuff Said. What about wolf hunter? Or is that rank 9? You wont get to much if you arent gonna go for it.
Go big or go home.

Yep, and I'm leaning towards Wolf Hunter or Fox.
Or if i'm really daring, I might go for Incubus again

I suppose if you don't want Goddess, Shadow Hunter, or Lion Hunter...
There's always Wolf Hunter's. 4~6 max dmg. If you don't feel like re-enchanting to get +6 max dmg, there's Diamond or Corundum enchants, but those give you Critical penalty.

You can't have the best of all possible worlds, get over it.
The fact is, the harder it is to get/apply/live with(dat repair cost) the enchant, the better it is.
The best common enchant for damage under r9 is probably Wolf Hunter.
I recommend Shadow Hunter, personally. Metal Needle is also decently good, and rank A.
I don't recommend Lion Hunter for it's level requirement(40+) and it's difficulty to get.
The best ones are all over rA though.

Goddess Spike is better then Goddess Caliburn in terms of Damage when you the potion making requirements for spike.

Caliburn has the hax +10 crit.
...which might not matter for melee.

Definitely skills over accomplishment points.
I can safely tell you because my accomplishment points are higher than most people who are chosen (2000+ if you want to know) and I failed to get in for like 3 months. It was only after I ranked a couple of skills to numbered ranks that I got in.
However, it's good to work on some accomplishment points. Probably 1000 minimum from what I observed.
I would put Wolf Hunter with Spike. The rest are too hard to enchant or get.
