Why do mabi characters have such crazy mood swings while doing life skills? I don't get it... one second, my character is jumping and cheering, and the next, he's depressed like his turtle died or something. And what's so exciting about collecting water successfully

Well, Mabinogi characters can fail to collect water (50%?), which probably explains why he's so happy when he was able to gather water successfully.
