This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. You can not register, post or otherwise interact with the site other than browsing the content for historical purposes. The content is provided as-is, from the moment of the last backup taken of the database in 2019. Image and video embeds are disabled on purpose and represented textually since most of those links are dead.

Because unlike guru there's no ads here or any kind of revenue based on people just viewing pages. Websites that have ads love guests because they = moniez for every page they browse.
Over here it's about community rather than anything else, browsing as a guest should be more to get a feel for the site to decide to join or not. So after seeing 10 threads anywhere other than spam or the "mabination" category at the top, it asks you to register if you want to keep lurking around. I decided on 10 since someone who just wants to find one piece of information like a guide or question thread should be more than capable within 10 different views of threads (also guides on the front page do not have this limitation).
If people think 10 is too low it can be increased, or you can just clear cookies, which is a good idea anyways if browsing from a computer you do not want to log in from, such as work or school.

Read the full thread and you'll realize you're not even talking about what we're all talking about.
