Every time I try to install gfx drivers, it fails.

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. I tried a bunch of different versions of drivers, tried running as admin, using omigodsupahadmin account, etc. I use an nVidia GeForce 6150 SE nForce 430. Think I've updated drivers only once on this computer a few months ago since I was usually too lazy, and now its biting me in the ass... ;V Any ideas on what to do or any help is appreciated.

Go to the nvidia.com driver downloads main page and try the automatic detection. Also try to uninstall current drivers first unless it will disable your video completely.

isn't that an old integrated graphics chip? don't update it if it doesn't cause any problems

Also, remember to uninstall your previous drivers before installing the new ones! This is important.

These are the latest ForceWare drivers for Vista 32 bit. Is it the same you are trying to install?

edit: oh, it's an integrated GPU.
You may also need to update motherboard drivers then, with this:

Because that's a piece of crap. Use drivers provided by manufacturers.

I'm calling the windows driver thing crap, whenever you have the option to do so use manufacturer drivers. Only exception would be standard plug and play junk like keyboards/mice/screens that don't have special functions.

Not sure what's causing that for the device manager.
A couple things could be: it's not really on local computer, right click it and check. Some services needed for it may be disabled. Maybe you need to run it as admin, no clue.
