I am lost on what is going on. I am fairly new to Mabinogi (about a month now), and I am not sure on what is happening. The basic run down, I was working on Generation 1 (and admitting never made it far before I was side-tracked), but I only did the first quest. I was doing a lot of other things, but I was checking out the Alchemy skill on wiki.mabinogiworld.com, and I seen it doesn't come in till Generation 9, and I just completed three quests to Generation 9 without knowing. And no, I did NOT speak to the weird cat in Duncan's house to skip a Generation.
The short question, can the Generations over-lap? and if not, what happened? (and again, I did NOT speak to the cat) and will I ever be able to get the Paladin or Dark Knight transformations?

Yes, you are somewhat correct in saying that the generations overlap.
But this is what actually happens.
G1 is part of Chapter 1 quests, which includes G1 G2 G3.
G9 is part of Chapter 3 quests, which includes G9 G10 G11 G12
Devcat made it so that you can do multiple chapters' quests simultaneously so that players don't "miss out" on storyline (even though they screwed it up by making the storyline A LOT more confusing by having the players be at multiple points of the plotline)

generation 1, 2, and 3 are independant of 9 and 10 you can have both going at once.

Thank you, you two are awesome. I was beginning to flip out. And thank you abc33kr, you seem to always come to my rescue :2thumb:

C1 (1-3), C2 (7-8), and C3 (9-12) are all separate.
As well as C4 when that gets here, I believe.

Every chapter can be started and finished at any time. Like you can be on G3 (C1) while doing G8 (C2) simultaneously.
Only problem is, yes, it means starting the players in different sections in the overall storyline arc, which is confusing.
