i liked fabrics since the fine/st fabric gloves added 5% to my success rate of actually making ANY fabric :p
as well as, i guess, the odds of the fabric coming out as fine/st xD
if only there was an easy way to get a lot of normal cheap leather (since you can't fragment cheap leather straps for PTJ >3>)
also rafting is aweshum for common leathers D:
3 stars = 5 common * 3 stops = 15 common = 10 firewood xD
but still, cheap leather straps :\
man i suck at weaving...
not as bad as archery, but blah 64% cheap straps x.x

Longa arrow dungeons are good Cheap Leather sources. Tailteann Def Basic and Shadow Wiz Basic also give decent Cheap Leather drops as well, so when you're bored, help out that newbie that's trying to finish his/her G9 mission and get some Cheap Leathers at the same time.

I didn't do Silk at all for Rank D. I hate gathering Cobwebs with a passion, which is why I've been at Rank C for like two months.
Fabrics are much better because you're guaranteed to get prof until you make out that quality. I also had a low rate of Cheap Silks, and even then the Silks are the same prof as Fine/st Fabrics. If you stick sheep to walls and have an upgraded Gathering Knife, you can get through that Fabric requirements in under an hour or two.

I did my rank D with fabrics.
It actually isn't so bad if you use an upgraded gathering knife, get a good deal of wool bags and shear away.
Then again, I think the only reason why I DIDN'T do silks is because I'm saving up for ranks 9 and 8.

Always finish the Thin/Thick Thread ranking req and keep Thin Thread for r8 and try making Fabric and get Cheap Leather from Walter ptj till atleast r9(You can start making finest silk at r9 with the Thin thread you saved)
