Well I got a ego dittes wand a few months ago when i finally got rank 1 thunder (feels proud) but after thunder I ranked blaze...and now the only thing i use thunder for is epically hard monsters with PD and rafting. So i never use my ego when i can just use a regular wand, and I have a combat wand on 95% of the time. Well anyway I was thinking maybe I should switch to a combat wand because of its epic balance and crit rate compared to other wands, and since blaze doesn't use durability and it loses dura slower while meleeing.
About my dittes..I hate it to say the least. At first, it was kool because people commented how unique it was and how they can egoable...blah blah, but i'm really starting to hate everything about it. CC lightning fails. Its social lvl 15 btw. The like 100 - 200 range isnt really helpful cause the normal lightning wand range is good enough for like 95% of the time. It loses dura so fast when I'm spamming thunder too, which also is a problem.
So what do y'all think a ego combat wand or keep the ego dittes?
PS - I type horribly after 5Pm, after school who cares =D
PSS - I use blaze ALOT i have like 7 full 100 prof combat wands already so that won't be a problem.
THanks in advance for your answers =D  now i must nap and periodically check till school starts.

Neither, wand egos are just plain bad. You should just get rid of both so you don't have them clogging up your inventory.

^This. The Dittes is doing almost nothing for your Thunder, since the damage it adds gets divided by (100-Str lv) So even at lvl 50 you'd only be getting a boost of 50% of your wand damage.
The Ego Combat wand at lvl 40 only adds about 69 damage to the initial strike over an upgraded Combat wand and as far as I know adds nothing to the magic component of Blaze. Also if it's for the crit, then a stock upgraded Combat wand can reach 46% Crit and an Ego with lvl 40 Luck would probably only have around 35%. And if you get a monster dropped one, then that can go up to 49% crit.

I accidentally voted for "combat" because I initially thought that you were referring to melee weapons.
The spirit fire wand is the only decent wand ego. The rest are generally outclassed by their upgraded counterparts. Most importantly is the damage potential lost when using melee/range.

Wand Egos are superior than upgraded Wands for Bolt Magic. This applies to all three elements, not just fire. For example, Ice Wand would deal around 30-50 extra damage per bolt while maintaining a base (not increased) MP cost, along with much much higher critical (which matters for bolts). Though for Advanced Magic, egos serve no purpose. I held onto my Ego Ice Wand for a pretty long time, always hoping that there would be
some redeeming quality to make it worth keeping and maintaining. The Awakening is pretty awesome, but nowhere near enough to make up for the high cost of ownership.
A Combat Wand would come in handy so that your melee damage while Blazing can still break the thousands, but I don't think it's really necessary. As far as comparability to upgraded weapons goes, I'd say non-wand > elemental wand > combat wand.
Then again, melee Egos don't really kick in to usefulness until the mid-30s. So if you don't plan on really feeding a new ego, just keep the Dittes.

1. Chaincast Ice bolt is outclassed by Arrow Revolver, kills wand durability and monsters with high defense will laugh at you.
2. Chaincast Lightningbolt is largely useless and is outclassed by pet lightning rod.
3. Chaincast Fire bolt is the only one that's really practical due to the significant damage increase.
4. While magic fusion isn't anything to write home about, you lack the ability to use bolt composer with chaincast wands (that includes chaincast ego wands).
5. Several players (Tellos comes to mind) have been reported stating that the Trinity Staff at max elemental charge triples bolt damage. Something to keep in mind, in case it turns out to be true.
6. Intermediate and Advanced magic > Bolt magic
Need I continue?

Relevance of above post to this quote? I see none.
No point in comparing apples and oranges.

Um, probably better off with no ego at all than a wand ego.
Considering it seems like you mainly use Magic and nothing else. Although a Dagger ego can be useful if you need blessings and nothing else.

I'd just keep it until you really want an ego that is not a wand or dagger. They just aren't that useful.

Question: Can you repair the Ditties using normal lightning wands?
Considering that you "only use wands" and the spirit ice/lightning/combat wand aren't very good, you should hold onto the ditties. Repair it when needed but only if the repairs won't cost you NX. I wouldn't feed it either.
Either way, don't ego a combat wand.

Well, cough cough. Dittes can only be repaired with nx annd i got a combat wand ego and i love it :) he is already social lvl 5
[edit] well you can repair using another dittes wand but it easier to repair with nx, but since i make like 2k nx a day from surveys, it isnt that bad.
