So how is that worth 250k?
The world of art pisses me off. If I spent 50 hours on an awesome piece it just sits there. If I throw buckets of paint at something and then sell it I can go buy a Ferrari.
And that;s if I'm lucky, chances are it won't be worth crap until after I died.

She's good especially for an 8 year old, so I'm guessing thats why someone priced it at 250k.
It might be WORTH that much to the world of art... No one will buy it at that so the entire family is deluding themselves.

She definitely has the gift for this.
After all, no one forced her to paint or sent her for any art classes.

Also, none of the individual pieces are $250,000. Her most expensive one was $25,000, and all of her works total to about the $250,000 mentioned.

I don't know, that's good artwork she made.
But $250k is... well, it's a lot.

She's good. But I still like my old art teacher's approach to people who say they love art. Something along the lines of "People are like to do art always do the same things they're comfortable with and never challenge themselves with anything."

Maaaan, I wish I had 250 grand.
She has talent, but no saying what she will be like when she grows up.
It'd be a shame to see her become obscure and forgotten if the only real selling point for her paintings was the age gimmick.

They're good for an 8 year old, but I'm pretty sure any teenager or young adult who is decent at painting can put out something like that too. In fact, I'm sure a lot of people can. I had a friend back in grade 11 who is way better than her in every aspect in terms of painting.
Just because she's 8 years old doesn't make the value more in my opinion. They're good for her age, but not even worth $50 to me. I believe the only reason her paintings sold for more than $50-100 is only because she's 8.
And just in case some people think this is an angry jealous rant, I'm just comparing those paintings to the paintings of some people in my IB art class before, and her paintings can't match up at all. Pretty sure they can't even sell for $100 though.

Her work is nice, but I agree that the only reason it's selling for so much is because of the age gimmick...
I'm sure that there are adults out there who make art twice as good and can't get a single penny from it.
