I suggest BP instead of WT. BP has higher nodes and a higher chance of getting them. But its a bit longer then WT.

They're both about the same, but you'll get fine iron a lot more and have a chance at some gold by doing Blood Prince.

BP appears to be a lot better imo, higher ore/mine bomb ratio, higher rate of fine iron and copper(dunno for sure about copper) for roughly the same time.

I don't think this was mentioned for BP mining runs, but you can lead Red Bearer down the hallway you come from and around a corner, once he starts his attack motion, run back into the ore room and he should get "stuck" (not follow you) and you can mine and collect your ores in peace. This is especially useful for those running nekked to preserve armor condition. I used to not do this but while it takes more time to manipulate red bearer in this way, it's a lot less stressful than dodging around the miniboss as he's chasing you while you try to mine and gather ores. (you can get the vampire add to stay in the hallway in the same fashion).

No, it's already mentioned in the OP... :what:
Great guide by the way, I've been doing the BP trick for a few weeks now even though I keep getting tons of iron ore. At least I know it isn't worthless now, considering the requirements for future sets.

Is it worthwhile to use a Platinum Token for better drops and earning EXP on the side?
-
TA wrote on 2010-11-13 07:37
As far as I know, tokens do not affect ore drops.

It's worth noting that if you die you get combat EXP, and as far as I know there's no difference armor-wise between forfeit leaving and dying leaving.
EDIT: Actually it's only a few hundred EXP so not really 'worth noting' just noting.

I personally just go naked and buy the noob weapons for my character on the boat. i die every time so i can just click replay instead of getting out and remaking the boat. I mean by the end i get enough exp for 1 run of blood prince, but anything helps. It's a great way to practice counter attacks for fionas too. with the almost endless stream of smaller enemies, and the expendable shield. I thought luck would actually effect the chance of silver and gold drops. i was gonna use the evie hair coupon to get a small bonus of luck but i guess its not worth it.

In addition it should be noted that repair cost is based on the price of the armor. Light battle mail has a npc value of 0 therefore it all repairs for free and is relatively cheap. Having the armor broken means just more breaks for the equipment mutilator title.

Any update for boat 4 stuff yet?

I dunno about you guys, but I'm kinda busy actually playing the new content right now. I already have my gold ore from BP mining, so I'm not even going to look for spots in boat 4 for some time, at least until after I finish my Rose Drop, weapon & run out of things to do. Even then though, I'll have to do my Fiona, so... it's probably gonna take some time.
This isn't an individual effort though. If you guys find a good spot, let us know about it here and I can make a video for it (if it's good enough anyways).
