soo.... you gotta multi client for this?? o.o how does this work, in regards to them noticing you?? i know they're supposed to stop spinning once they notice someone, so i don't get it.

Depends what race you are. Elves have it the easiest, you can just hide and the spiders will drop aggro and start spinning again, leaving you to bring the next batch over. If you're not an elf, unfortunately, you must either use two computers or have a friend help you by keeping the spider farm alive while you cc or get out of the spiders' range for them to drop aggro.

if you r an elf, why did u dms (although it doesn't work anymore)? instead of hiding

He probably did it so that people playing on humans and giants could use this vid as an example as well, since generally if you play an elf it's pretty common knowledge that hiding will reset aggro and they'll probably do that automatically instead of doing the DMS shown in the video.

I'm 98% sure that if you're a human, it takes all of ~10 seconds to get another 2 spiders to aggro you once you run out of visual range of the trapped spiders.

Pu pu pu pu....pu pu pu
(Two spiders notice you at any one time....the rest won't. Because Jigglypuff puts them in sleep mode.)
Just kidding about the Jigglypuff part. So say you have 16 spiders, and two people are there, so 4 spiders (2 each to a person) will notice and stop spinning. There will still be 12 spiders spinning webs that you can pick up.
Multi-client's recommended if you don't want to depend on a friend to help you look after the farm.

Alternatively, summon a pet and have it sit next to the spiders. As long as you don't go into any buildings or change maps, you're fine. Actually, you can go into a building if you get back to the spiders in like, a minute.

If you're a human with a lot of pets, just create an elf character or use the free elf card and make a spider farm with your elf. Multi-client or having two computers is recommended because you have to keep the spiders stuck to the tree. So have an alt AFK close to them. With the elf character, it's more easy to drop aggro so they won't follow you and get unstuck. Put all the cobwebs in your pets and get on your human. I did that for Rank 8.
