YES! This is amazing!
I was waiting for Obama to say something!
What a nice surprise. :)
It gets better! It's okay to be different, it's okay to be gay!

I'm not sure if this is appropriate but...
Did anyone notice how many times he blinked?

Does that matter? lol

Talking naturally is much better than forcing your eyes open like a car salesman.
I wish he'd actually do something. Like pass a national anti-discrimination law against LGBTQ people.

You know everyone has to agree to it, he can't just pass it all by himself.

Of course.
But LGBT rights have been on the backburner since he got elected.
Hate to say it, but it shouldn't take gay teens committing suicide to rally the government into action.

Ya but it obviously wasn't going to get anywhere without it. I mean it's a horrible thing to say but look at the civil cases Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated and the movement really picked up then.

I dunno. Rosa Parks and the Black Panthers were way before MLKjr got shot. I feel like their movement was much more developed and demanded more attention than what we've got going on.
What's in the news?
Gay marriage and DADT?
I feel like pushing for both of these is useless if people across the nation can legally be fired for being gay.
People aren't even really pushing for an anti-discrimination law.

Yeah but the big push came after his death, and Rosa Parks got arrested. At least she's still breathing. Notice how MLK Jr. has his own holiday. It just takes people to realize that what their doing wrong IS wrong once people die because of it. Just because its on the news doesn't mean its gonna get passed right away. Sure were getting there but as slow as possible. We got Gays to openly serve in the army but the pentagon is warning them for being open. Not much of an improvement

Of course it won't be passed right away. Has the Obama administration really attempted to get things
moving though? No. It's just been talk talk talk so far.
Dan Savage's response to the Obama video. Not sure how to embed, I'll work on it.

Which is why I'm saying something tragic is needed to push it forward. Ya see he said the same thing in the vid.
It shouldn't be that way.
It shouldn't have to happen.
But it's what it takes to get things done
