First total face transplant performed

Stem Cell research budget is laughable though. It'd be common practice to replace body parts and organs with stem cell by now if it had a bit more recognition from all the naysayers who preach about god's practice.

You can't just attach nerves on top of your pre-existing flesh. You'd have remove whats left of your current face to completely add the new one.

Currently the only people who have gotten them are people who literally had no face.

No eye, nose, barely a mouth. Usually result of some terrabad accident.

I think this is really beneficial. I doubt people will be making altering their faces on this scale cosmetically anytime soon though; not only is it expensive, it requires a donor. Not many good looking people are going to want their faces peeled off when they die.... Especially if its for someone else's vanity.

The terribly disfigured people though-- it's great that they're able to reclaim faces and no longer be shunned by society.
