Anyone else enjoying this game as much as I? I loved 3, and NV is nothing but improvements. I also got it for pc to enjoy the slew of mods that are sure to accumulate. Maybe even make one my self.
I am playing 2 playthroughs right now. Both hardcore, one is around lvl 15, who is a sneaky pistol guy, while the other is brand new. Going to try my hand at melee that time around. He is also going to have high speech/barter, since they are actually useful now, unlike in FO3.
Got to love the game, it combines my 3 favorite aspects of gaming.
-First person shooters
-Role playing games
-And sandbox/open world games.
Aside from some small issues, I find this game to be the greatest game I have played in a while. Anyone else have anything to share?

I'm having a blast so far. Spoilers :
I've already killed Mr. House (Technically did the even more torturous method of leaving him alive to suffer without having control over New Vegas and just being a decrepit, decaying body), Caesar (In his own base. Motherf*cking win.), and Benny (Talked him into going into a room with just me and him alone. Didn't even talk to him, just turned on stealth boy and shot him in the head with my Lucky).
Right now I'm dealing with the Brotherhood to get them out of the NCR's way. I would prefer not working for the NCR since they're not exactly who I'd call "Good Guys", and so far the only path I'd really choose to be a good guy is to take all of New Vegas myself. So far however I got the Robot Dog a new brain (Main reason why I stormed the Legion HQ. Needed to kill that freaking dog for her brain), and enlisted the help of a former high ranking NCR Sniper, a former Enclave Soldier, and a Mexican Ghoul Cowboy. Using a mod on the game so I can have more than one follower with me.
My character right now is geared toward stealth, sniping, and unarmed combat. I have a bunch of Stealth Boys stockpiled off of killing Nightkin and other sources, and I mainly use a Sniper Rifle for Assassinations and Various Pistols or Unarmed weapons for Actual Combat. The only thing that's throwing me off about the game are the sides I choose. I can't really say that any of them have intentions that I'd agree with, and I've come to the compromise that it's best to end the game with me leading my own faction to victory. Fallout 3 was a much easier choice since it was as simple as choosing to side with the Brotherhood really.

I'm loving it so far, barely done any main storyline quest though. I always leave that for the very last in Open-World games.
Playing with an Unarmed char currently on hardcore mode from start. Gotta love punching Super Mutants to death, I like how they made Unarmed better, with more VATS moves, and more weapon variety.
I also love how there's a lot of stuff brought back from FO and FO2, factions and such, brings back memories, haha.

I love the world in NV. I don't feel lonely as often as I did in FO3. It may be because there's more towns and locations closer together.

I'm having a blast, I also lol'd on xbox live when I saw my cousin was a level 1 Drifter.
Currently settling disputes with my fists (because that's how men negotiate) and kicking deathclaws.

Note to self- Boone+Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle+A helluva lot of .308 rounds= A rape fest of anything that crosses our path. Too bad he chews through all his ammo faster then you can say "Where can I buy some more .308 ammo...?"
I dont even keep any .308 ammo myself. I just give it all to Boone, and use the AP rounds if I need to snipe anything myself.
Anyway, right now im level 20, and I am sitting around doing random sidequests before I take over new vegas. Anyone have any ideas for a new specialized character that is just far out there? Maybe something weird, like a extreme goody two shoes, who can only use NCR weapons. Or some evil character who uses bladed weapons only, no other melee weaps.

Finished the unarmed with independent ending.
Now I'm with a sniper, focusing on crits, 9 luck, gonna get the implant too. Anyway, I'm playing blackjack in the Ultra-Lux right now... and high luck almost feels like cheating, I'm making a ton ass of caps. 7775 earning so far.

Yeah, I always loved criticals and sneak attacks in fallout, so I always go for high luck. Forunatly, I love gambling in games, so that goes hand in hand. I always play Blackjack, it is the only thing I can gain a decent amount of caps from.
BTW, Anyone got 3 of anything in slots? I have never gotten anything better then 2 cherries, and even then I have only gotten that like 5 times out of hundreds of tries.
