I saw this video today in my AP Government class. It was part of political elections and strategies to it.
I really thought this was an interesting ad since most of the times, political ad just flames conservatives/liberals.
What are your thoughts on this video? I hope this sparks an interesting conversation instead of "OMG CHINESE R NOT EBIL" The video is to make fun of the government's wasteful spending not flame at china.
*I hope this thread doesn't get locked due to the maximus atmosphere that has been around. Not all conservative thoughts are bad >_<*

Don't we love what exporting jobs overseas gets us?

For one, is this video even appropriate?
I couldn't imagine an all white class laughing at the fact that America owns Mexico or something.
These are the worst kind of ads in politics.
It's just another fear mongering ad that's telling people "If you don't support this America will become super socialist!"
This video didn't get a tiny bit specific and provided no real information.

The debt is a good and bad thing. Obviously, no one likes to be in debt, but if China does something the US doesn't like, the US can tell China it won't pay off the debt.
Edit: Oops, assumed this was about the debt the US owes to China. I still don't think China will speed up that fast in 20 more years.

America is mixed- economy, we are not capitalist. We do use a free market system though, like everyone else in the planet (Might be mostly, though).
On a side note, that video was funny.
Also did anyone feel a racist vibe from that video?

That's funny; as far as I can tell, if the US ever goes into debt that far, the last thing we would do is to give ourselves up and work for the countries we owe debt too. Our military and state governments are buffers against that.
The Greeks got conquered though, so that's not too valid.

o.e now I see some of the racist vibes.
The picture on the left side of the auditorium, that's the communist leader right? Even though china isn't like that anymore.
But still I thought this was a good break from the typical "obama ish stalin or DemocRAT" ads.
