Don't have to compare to the book (even though it is likely that you have read them. very easy to read)
Came up with this after rewatching the 1st movie
The cat's opinion
1st movie: the acting and writing were horrible. However, it has a lot of charm. It's basically shows a magical school just the way you would like it. The kids exploring an ancient and magical place with an interesting history.
2nd movie: the cat doesn't remember anything. most likely the acting was bad, but it still had charm. the kids exploring the castle and stuff. Charm still there.
3rd movie: don't remember anything except for time travel. thought that was well done
"and hermoine punching draco was priceless."

4th movie: oh yeah, harry potter doing a bunch of stuffs. Basically moving quickly from scene to scene.
5th: The cat skipped a lot of scenes due to how uninteresting everything was. Practically skipped to the part where they fight the bad guy wizards. They turn into dark smoke and basically dodge everything. The cat expected ducking, dodging, and barrel rolls like a western shooter but with wands instead of guns. Kitae said the dumbledore part was good but the cat stopped before there. They can't even do the combat right.
due to how horrible 5th was never saw the 6th
Don't know what to expect for 7th.

the cat doesn't care if it wins awards or make money,
only wanted the movies to be decent.

I thought the majority of the HP movies were pretty good and I liked the 4th the most. I think it's quite unfair to view them on the save level as Twilight. =( And no, I'm not a Twilight hater or lover. Just neutral. The movies weren't good at all, but I've never read the books for Twilight so I can't judge. (I have read all 7 HP books multiple times though)

Order of the Phoenix was never too big in the first place though, was it? The only parts I liked about it was Harry training Dumbledore's army and... luna lovegood. imo, the movies did the two well.
Haven't seen sixth either. Just waiting for ABC Family to have another ridiculous Harry Potter marathon but with the 6th movie included.

For my two cents.
Don't make a stupid thread if you havnt read/watched all the books/movies.
Don't talk in third person, christ that's annoying.
And lastly, don't make a thread if you "Can't remember them"
And in my opinion, the 5th was a amazing book (Umbridge wasn't as quaint as she was in the book) , the 6th less so (Movie was, blek) and If you've read the 7th book, It's basically a drawn out peice of crap, where you expect Harry to have a Ichigo moment (Goes away for five minutes, comes back and owns) when he never does.

Stop being such a prick.
And this is a serious warning. I am sick of it.

IMO, for the books, 1-4 was pretty good, but the later ones kinda bored me.
I find that the movies lack a ton of content, which is normal, but it still annoys me nonetheless... Not to mention that I've already read the books 3-4 times each, so I was pretty much falling asleep every 5 minutes...

The only movie that I thought was better than the book was #3 imo. Mainly because they complete change Hermonie in it.

I didn't read any posts except cats first one.
Anyways, I personally, have never read a single harry potter book. Now, I use to like the movies a lot when I was younger but now I could care less. The only reason I keep up with them is because it's like one of the only movies these days with decent magic CGI which somewhat/slightly improves each movie.

I wasn't as big of a fan of the HP movies when I was younger and Sorcerers Stone came out but they have progressively gotten better. Not on any standard to the movie I had in my head while reading the books but I'm hoping the last 2 will be.

The HP movies have been something i've unexpectedly liked.
OF COURSE the first 2 movies had mediocre to bland acting by the main characters. It's a bunch of kids still learning the trade. Plus the teachers and the like don't get much lovin for detail. It's kind of like Buffy the Vampire Slayer's first 2 seasons - it's a featured creature type of deal, nothing really great about it. Still good movies though.
The third is my favorite due to the fact the marauders just remind me of me and my old friends. Everyone and their dog bellached about the change in Dumbledores but WTH did they expect I mean frick. I liked the new one more anyway.
Fourth I have no idea why it has a lesser loving it's alright nothing holy****omgamazing but it's got the HP flare and more of Voldy so s'all good. it starts getting darker finally.
Fifth Is the one that got me to like the series actually. Umbridge reminds me of the evil nuns with rulers and makes me laugh. You can tell it's going to start getting darker by this point and overall gave the third a run for it's money as being my favorite for awhile.
Sixth was sexy. The thing I like about the HP verse is the back story about Voldy and Harry's parents because Harry himself is a boring twit that i care nothing about. I was annoyed by the over abundance of Luna Lovegood but hey I can see their reasoning and i do like Luna, I just like Tonks more. Bellatrix is what made me like this movie. Helena is a VERY gifted actress and seeing her is always a treat. That and more about Voldy makes me really like this one.
The last 2 movies are in 3-D and look like they might make the 3-D somewhat used at least. The wedding and what not is in so it will be interestignt o see what they cut for timing. What they cut or don't cut could easily make or break these movies and how they split it as well. I don't have high expectations for the ending of the second part since even in the books it's retarded beyond belief. None the less should be good watches.
Off-topic:
To the twilight comparisons... in no way is some brit lady's imaginative magical world at all going to be worth comparing to some odd american chick's wet dream. Never. All twilight is is a fandom of a fandom and that scares me. We do not want me to review them.

The books were great to me :blood:
The first 2, maybe 3, movies I loved; but after that they kept getting worse
I hope the 7th (both parts) won't be as bad as the 5th & 6th :fail:
