While I have read the Wiki on training Chain Cylinder, I am still a bit puzzled. I have tried the advice given on how to activate it (switching from water cannon to sand blast..or in my case flame burst), yet I must be doing something wrong. Maybe the problem is I am not training on easy to kill foxes.
Anyhow, can someone give advice on how to activate properly and routinely
chain cylinder?

i'm assuming you haven't gotten the skill yet. it's completely random, just keep at it. it took me about 450~500 water crystals to get.

Well I did in fact get the skill. What I am asking is how to train it. Because since I got it, I haven't been able to activate it again.

oh! :V did you press "use" in your skills tab for it to activate it? you need to activate it every time you change channels/relog.

Yeah...instead of making it passive, devcat decided for some reason to make Chain Cylinder an active ability that you have to turn on every time you log in/change channels.
It surprises me that they worked it out to where it won't activate if you don't have the crystals for that many charges, yet they couldn't make it passive. Is there even a reason why you WOULDN'T want it turned on? /endrant

D'oh!!![/SIZE] :fail:
Ah, so that is it? I somehow thought it was a passive skill. So no, I activate it. I'll try that the next time I am logged on.

Yes. When I'm training alchemy mastery using water cannon by killing spiders, I don't want to use more than 1 water crystal at a time. Even if they're cheap to buy, it's unnecessary and a waste. I got mine randomly after only killing five white spiders using water cannon, then trained it to F just for kicks, but turned if off afterward and I haven't turned it on since.

30 stacks of Water Cannon can be burned through really fast if you turned on a high rank Chain Cylinder. Now obviously, Chain Cylinder is wonderful for significantly cutting down on loading time, but there are times when you don't need it turned on to conserve Crystals and Stamina.
Like training Alchemy Mastery on Zombies with Fire Crystals.

Since this thread is close to my problem, and his problem has been resolved, I'm going to borrow his thread.
Can anyone confirm that you can get the skill from weakest creatures?

Yeah you can. I gained knowledge about Chain Chain after spamming Water Cannon on my opponent I was dueling.

In that case, I am the unluckiest seeker of chain cylinder ever. Pretty sure my usage count is up in the 2-3k area and no chain cylinder as of yet.

I am reviving this thread to ask one additional question on chain cylinder. There is a requirement to training that asks you to use offensive alchemy after Chain Cylinder has loaded 2 extra charges. I have fulfilled 2/5 of this requirement but i can't seem to get the other three. Is it by sheer luck that it loads the 2 charges?, or do i have to keep loading more than one charge to get the extra 2?
