I put my Evie work into sufficent skills, (2k AP cap except for middle ground things) then it depends on how I enjoy the scythe if it goes really well and it's efficent at mobbing unlike magic (That alone COULD sell it...) I'll swap, it's always a nice viable choice. Also Protip: During Token free period, spam white tyrant (Or Red maybe? I didn't bother with him on my Fiona =|) and get like 12 runs in, lolol

Red Tyrant is nowhere near as fast as the White one xD he's way too aggressive and takes too many spears to drop, so it's probably best to spam the white tyrant. Also it seems like there is some common ground between staff and scythe, like INT, AGI, Magic Mastery, Magic Critical, and such. This could be a choice of things to rank right now while we don't have scythe so that when we do get it, we can try it out and eventually make a definite decision as to which we would focus on first.

Just look at it this way, you get roughly 100AP or more from daily battles. So if you put say 500 AP into staff skills, it will take you at most 5 days to make up.
Also increasing a few ranks to help for leveling might not be as helpful as you think. Take magic arrow, it might get a huge boost a t rank 9 (3 arrows, 3x the dmg?) But comparing say rank B with rank E, the damage difference (even assuming you don't rank another matk increasing skill) in practice would be rather then killing a boss using 22 magic arrows, you can kill it in 20.

Yes, but on the dash to say, lv 1 to 10 or 14, what else can you possibly use your Ap on?

Do you guys think it's viable to have staff and scythe on one character that's already raised staff skills.
Or should I have a Staff Evie and a Scythe Evie? Because I really want to play both, and my staff Evie is level 25....
Also, if I were to have a Scythe Evie, would it be out of the question to get a rank or two in Magic Arrow to make leveling easier? Thanks!
In almost every game that does not have a finite skill-point cap, you're better off not being specialized. The only reason one could ever have for specialization is if there is a finite amount of skills one could rank. Keep your staff and scythe skills up to date, swap out for whichever works better for the mission you're doing.

Hmm, I'm not sure I fully agree but I'm still undecided. I went ahead and put some platinum on my Scythe Evie, but the thought of grinding both characters makes me feel really... tired. I'm just not sure. u.u

This isn't exactly a great idea for Vindictus right now. Since you're actually stronger using one skill (which means your battles go faster). If you specialize, you are stronger than a hybrid. And since you eventually go hybrid later on, it's all good. Not to mention if you end up going on a mission that isn't for your specialization, you can bring in friends (assist or party-wise). I have not run into anything a staff Evy can't handle yet without a lot of dodging and a bit of time.

well, i never thought i'd actually post in this forum, but since i don't know anybody who actually plays vindictus, i need to vent somewhere, so...
although many suspected it might happen after the next maintenance, and those suspicions are now reality...

The problem is people are thinking that scythes do wtfpwn damage right off the bat, but that is not the case. Each character's damage varies, depending on how their skills are built. From the looks of it, Evy's Scythe stems from burst-type damage from the smashes and then the scythe magic afterwards. So unlike Fiona and Lann, she doesn't mow things down quickly or anything, she's more of a burst damage type character, which seems evident in both her staff and scythe at this point.

I don't mind if Scythe evie isn't that strong. Means less evie's with Scythe and making me feel more unique. I'm one who plays for the fun not for playing the 'best' character for damage or what not. Its just not my deal. I'll play the underdog if I enjoy playing it.

This is like, exactly me. I don't care about stats, to be honest. (unless i can pick up one of those huge barrel things :D) Really, it's all just kinda boring. Now having fun and doing what you wanna do is the best thing! :D

It depends if you're dedicated or casual. You could have went 1-24 the first day. So, it's really up to you how fast you can do that.
