lul, i'm actually picking up some melee from being pure mage. got r1 crit,r1 wm, r4 smash(going to r1), was gonna work FH to r3 or r1 while working a few other skills that just require time and training like tailoring(r6 atm), AM (r9 atm), and synthesis (r7). was doing this all for use and will for adv magic crit cap. judging by some input i think i'll be picking up CM.
and on rafting... 100% balance(only sounds intimidating; 230 int, r1 MM) thunder r6(yeah it's 159 ap but it's will and mp with 3 target on 1 hit) with reduced cast cost wand(money/time for -40% cast cost) will almost always one shot on rafting, excluding warriors. you could max stars before the first stop regularly if that's what you wanted(need 19-21 for 5 mp50's, 28-30 for 10 mana herbs).
spacebars also work on training playing instrument btw, and it'll add dex.
deep down inside i prefer ballooning for exploring with fire wand cc +2 and full ice enchants(1 damage wyvren, yay). just saying.

My advice: if you're done with melee, this is the order I went, and I'm liking my decision =)
Melee > Range > Magic > Alchemy
Of course, you should definitely get at least 100 STR (base) before you can be considered "melee"
Get 200 DEX before going to magic
get 200 INT before going to alchemy.

It would but LLB's are like God's at repairing, they cost like 5k ea and can be prof'd to 100 in like 10-30mins. I personally use a LLB ego for its 2500 range for Rafting purposes and thats it. For training I dual wield broadswords. For everything else its a combination of broadswords, LLB's and a ring bow.

oh gad.. thanks for all the points.. but consider these:
LAG issues for range.. my alt elf gets pwned because of the delayed shots when the enemy is front of meh.. and thats two arrows.. not 1.. :pissed:
EGO is not my thing.. lol.. i had a 2H ego before.. and im so sick of it.. lmao.. but i love to prof and upgrade my equips so much..
i got like 120 base str at 17.. i dont think if thats good enough..
my main setup is
Primary: Stiff Fierce Mace + 15% Melee PD Hetero Kite Shield (white blue yay.. white ftw)
Secondary: Fail Full Splash Upgrade of Dragon Blade :lol:
i mainly do Smash->Bolt->WM->Charge->Smash and so on. (with less lag.. and yes im tired with that. -.-)
Im still undecided on being a melee/mage hybrid.. on a side note, i dont have the plan to be a DK..
but i want to make my melee fighting more exciting..
i guess right now.. i need to do refine and production mastery.. i give up on WM.. oh gad.. please dont.. i dont wanna train it plox.. QQ..
EDIT: i think blaze is a cool skill.. ._.
