None of this affects or helps anything. He has a freaking "Fix Economy Now" button on his desk that he won't press and won't lower taxes for christ's sake!
that's like saying that you can win in starcraft after your base was totaled.

Just to remind you all, that was sarcasm. I thought it was pretty clear with the Fix Economy Now button remark...

Why do people always think "lower taxes = better economy"?
Just an explanation to your question.
People believe that because lower taxes->businesses doing more investment->business make more money->more money for the government to tax->government now has more money to pay debt.
It's like how 10% of 1000 is greater than 20% of 300.

^ That's true, a government can do all the right things but it's all up to the psychological and social aspect of the population to believe that it will work and actually do it.

1. Not that easy.
2. Lowering taxes would put America into an even worse debt than before. Why do people always think "lower taxes = better economy"?
The simple way of thinking about it is that consumers will have more money, which equals more spending, and a more robust economy. The problem is, a lot of people save the money instead of spending it, which obviously defeats the "original" purpose of the tax cuts.

"I could do that in my sleep."

I dunno though, the economy has been on a rise since 2009 september.
Its just that it was so **** that it still looks pretty bad.
Employment is a lagging indicator so it takes at least a good year or two before people start hiring again after we get out of the recession.

Only if they save their money in the freezer or under their mattress.
