uhm... im a fiona player before evie, stops playing her at 31 because of evie frenzy, i dont really find it hard to get use to evie, as we do a lot of heavy stander cancel, we do the same with evie's small hop, which is practically a lot easier
and beside that, true that we use the "hold ur ground" all the time, well this one could be replace by blinking:thumb:
just IMO though , everybody got their own playstyles that fits them the most

scythe evie plays like a sword lann+hammer fiona mix to me. the smashes hit hard and the attacks are slower (like a hammer fiona) but you also need to learn how to dodge and burn your normal attacks and land your smash attacks against bosses. biggest thing i had to get used to is the rather narrow area of the actual smashes. her normal attacks are sweeping and great at interrupting enemies when they are surrounding you but your real damage comes in a narrow (although quite far reaching) range. I also ticked off autoaim toward enemies so without accurate camera-angle turning I can miss a lot of my attacks.
Am I the only one that struggles to perform the LLLR smash so that my character hooks the enemy then turns in a totally different direction and slams him down into a bigger group? Please confirm if its possible to do. Obviously, if the group of enemies is directly in front of me, I have no trouble hooking one them slamming him down into his friends.

You can't turn for any smash.
Once you've activated it, what you started with is what you get.
I guess 3690 is an exception, but that's not really one smash.

^This is true. Even with 3960 it's separated into distinct spins, where you can't freely move during that spin.

For Soul Sucker (Scythe #3), the attack is quite linear, with the AoE around the spot it slams down. So as long as you're facing one direction, that's the direction you will slam the enemy down. If you want to hit the larger group, you'll have to hook the enemy while facing the group.

except for hammer fiona's 4th smash, u could charge while facing north and end up releasing the smash at another direction:evil:

Then you agree that the direction you're facing when you activate the smash is the direction the smash will go.

Scythe Evie is really a hit and run character, isn't she?

Well, generally, you don't want to get hit. It is better to dodge, and then hit...
Kind of applies to all classes.

Yea, but many of her attacks seems to support it. Especially with Mark of Death and Bloody Strings which allows you to give the final blow at a safe distance before incoming in to replant it.
Both Lann and Fiona have to be close to finish all their combos while Evie can save her big boom far away.
Not saying Evie doesn't have to get close to implant her magical finishes, but rather she doesn't have to be close to intiate it whereas Fiona and Lann's smashes have to be upclose, no matter what.

For maximum DPS, youd have to snap while initiating your next combo.
Not to say you cant just LLR at range all day and not get touched, but its not your maximum potential.

However it isn't required just like Lann or Fiona have to be closed just to finish their combos.
You have the choice of being far away. Heck, you can intiate your normal combos fast as long as the smash lands on the enemy to implant the magical finish.
Sure DPS is lower, but such things are optional and still does good damage.

You do spend more time on the smash if you are draining for the finisher. It isn't like you can spam the finisher without doing the combo anyways. You are actually in the same situation if you doing your melee combos compared to Fiona and Lann. If all three classes do their combos, and not get hit, Evies will have the lowest of all the DPS.
Remember, there are no Evie finishers if you do even get that smash to connect on the monster.
