XP... stuttering?

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. Basically, I was using it today, and it started this stuttering. Basically, for a split second, every few seconds, everything would stop, the mouse, video, and the audio would repeat the last split second a few times and then it would continue. Just started happening after awhile. Did a reboot into Linux Mint and now it's running perfectly fine, which makes me think its a problem of XP itself. Any advice?
