I'm and avid merchant and run thru dun channels many times a day and have come across a disturbing observation. I've been seeing waaaaaaaaay too many diamonds at 1.50cm ... sometimes multiples ones on the same vendor. Anyone have any info on this or make the same observations?
Right now im on mari / dun / ch4 on awing's vendor and see 4 of such diamonds ... there is NO way that the random generator that gives you gems will produce 4 such similar sized stones.

I've been given quite a few 3.00 cm gems from hot spring monkeys before. Maybe these diamonds are coming from them as well.
Edit:
Wiki confirms it:
http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/index.php?title=Hot_Spring
1.5cm diamonds are coming from the monkeys.
Now there's the issue of people producing enough 5-star shrimp rice/ veggie soup to earn such a high number of these diamonds. I've been keeping my ear to the ground as a new found merchanter and it seems like people are spamming hotspring monkeys for marshal and rigid enchants since they're so great for shield defense. Maybe an increase in the number of these diamonds have resulted from their pursuit.

You only need 4 star to get diamonds - and I can make about 50 4-5 star shrimp fried rice in less than an hour, so spamming monkeys is very easily legit.

Yum...though you have to admit that there are "non-legit" methods to get 5-star food.
Come G11, diamonds should also come out from shadow missions as well. Specifically from Tara. Every one of them is 1.5cm.

It's actually easier to use vegetable soup since you can get all of the ingredients at caitin cheaply

OOC: No, it's not. <_< It's much simpler to use Shrimp Fried Rice, because all ingredients are readily available from
Glenis AND you don't have to make intermediate steps to create some of the ingredients from raw foods. One of the ingredients for Vegetable Soup is
Fried Vegetables, which itself requires cooking first. Shrimp Fried Rice's ingredients are all purchasable straight from NPC, without requiring extra steps.

I cooked at least two hundred dishes for the monkeys...I did my homework before I started. =P

Vegetable Soup has a total cost of 85 gold. Including the intermediate step, all the ingredients are purchasable.
Shrimp Fried Rice requires buying Steamed Rice for 1,650 gold, collecting Eggs from Hens, and paying an additional 10g for the Shrimp.
Alternatively, you could cut costs by 1,640 gold by making the Steamed Rice, but then you'd have to also collect water and add an intermediate step.
Either buy 5 ingredients for 85 gold and cook twice.
or
Buy 2 ingredients for 1,650 gold, collect an egg, and cook once.
or
Buy 2 ingredients for 40 gold, collect water, collect an egg, and cook twice.
The first option -
Vegetable Soup - seems to be a clear winner to me.
Remember that the intermediate step can be low quality and still end up with a 5 star finished product. As long as you don't fail the recipe, you can just wave your ladle around to save time.

if only you can make shrimp fried rice with fried shrimp (5-star from glewyas (already buyable)) with steamed rice. Expensive, but fast :)

Yeah, I make veggie soup over shrimp fried rice. Just gotta keep clicking...

Trigger argues for easier to make, Justin argues for cheaper...both are correct. Stop playing mind games you two! x.x
If you've ever spammed monkey foods - shrimp fried rice is the clear winner. If you're worried about cost (Really? Am I the only one that finds making Mabi golds extremely easy?) then you probably won't be spamming monkeys anyway.
Simple fact: Eggs are easier to pick then to make the multiple dishes veggie soup requires. And who doesn't like fondling foul for fifteen minutes?

Me. Which is why I consider Veggie soup "easier" as well as cheaper. You can just half-ass the intermediate step anyways, you'd probably end up with more Mixed Vegetables than Eggs over time.
Kefka said Veggies Soup ingredients was readily available
cheaply
Trigger said Shrimp Rice ingredients are readily available from Glenis,
which Eggs aren't
I'm just pointing out the inconsistencies

Or... you can spam a 1x1 disliked food and sell wooden blocks... they're worth a lot.
