A
tautology is an unnecessary or unessential (and sometimes unintentional) repetition of meaning, using different and dissimilar words that effectively say the same thing.
Why it is usually a tautology:
"gift" is, by definition, something given without charge.
Why it is usually a tautology:
"exaggerate" means "overstate", thus "over-exaggerate" means "over overstate".
Can you think of any more tautologies?
:lol:

Unsolved mysteries works! (I think.)
Yellow lemon is a pleonasm, which is...
the use of an unnecessary word that is implicit in the word it describes: A round circle. A big giant.
A tautology is
a repetition of the same idea in different words: A huge great big man.

Hmm, apparently there is no difference.
Tautologies = pleonasms.

Well... over exaggerate is kind of different from those adjective-noun combos. AIs tautology a super set of pleonasm?
