I'm not sure if posts about proxies are allowed here, if they aren't, then just delete this thread.
But for those of us who play Vindictus and aren't in NA, I wonder how you do it? For me, I use Your Freedom and AOL to play, but those still leave me with quite a bit of lag in parties. (YF has less, but I still lag in parties - solo is ok though.)
Do you all just solo a lot, or use paid proxies or something? Just wondering how everyone else does it.

Well the thing with soloing is that the dungeon will be client based so you don't lag when your soloing unless you have a slower computer, I'm not sure if party dungeons make it so the server hosts the dungeon or if someone in the party does, either way it will create lag because of the distance between you and the server/the person hosting. x: I'm not sure if there is a way to fix this.

dont know if this is true but i read somewhere that for parties its the party "leader" that hosts the dungeon and there for his upload speed was important so evryone dont lag

Its all player hosted. The host of the game will be what determines lag. The closer you are to a person the less lag you will get. Personally for me hosting in my home I see 5 bars with my friend if hes playing on my other computer. Its usually 4 when he plays at his home about 15 minutes away. Others I see mostly 2-4 bars depending where they live in the east. People playing elsewhere I'll see at 1 bar.
Really the only solution is if you play near someone. Considering your using a proxy, this might cause some trouble as it might be based more on proxy location. If you can try to have someone near you play with you to see if its based off proxy or if location wise it helps at all. If its effected more by the proxy you might want to try picking a proxy that is closer to the people you play with, but its still likely there will be lag either way.

It's not only the host and the players though. There's also something done in Nexon's server, since every time they have maintenance, I can host people with 3-5 bars, and a few days after the maintenance, suddenly these same people get 1-3. So it's not only your own connections that make a difference.

*points* That, what Heretic said. Also, I get better bars from Tea (2-3 bars depending on things) compared to people who live closer to me. :/ I think Nexon did something bad. D:

Hmm, so what should I be doing as a non-NA resident to improve my speeds? Or there is nothing much that can be done?

I haven't found anything yet that helped. You might want to try one of those free program thingies that lets you appear to be in the same room as long as the other person has it too (in other words, friends only). D: But if you find anything, let me know. Canada, Sask isn't that great for internet speeds so.. boosting is good.
