Excel Spreadsheet for Blacksmithing Training Cost Estimates

This excel sheet is based on the estimate figures given at Meiya's Blacksmithing Guide

I was tired of calculating the amounts manually and so I decided to create an Excel sheet for myself to estimate how much I will need to spend to collect materials on my server for the skill of Blacksmithing. I realised that it will be useful for other people, which is why I decided to share it over here.

I have split it to different rank segments as the amounts are overwhelming as a whole.

The prices I have listed in this excel sheet only apply to the server that I am playing at. Therefore, you need to do your own research and change the price of items (per stack of 20 for ingots and per stack of 10 for leathers) at the bottom left side below the item names. Change them to what the average prices are for your server.

It only starts from Rank B and ends with Rank 2. I do not intend to include the earlier ranks in the excel sheet. Feel free to modify it for your own liking if you want to.

Blacksmithing r5+ should allow players to repair equipment, imo.

r5: 95% (97 w/holy water)
r4: 96% (98 w/holy water)
r3: 97% (99 w/holy water)
r2: 98% (99 w/holy water)
r1: 99% (100 w/holy water)

You should suggest that to the developers.

But I also think that this will break the balance of this skill. If they make it too easy they will not profit very much from the repair protection potions in the cash shop. Items will circulate around longer on the market, which can be a bad thing for the game economy.

This skill should come with a catch, which is probably something that is required to repair the item which is on the rare side.

Other than that...I wonder if anyone else will find the excel chart I made useful...

The balance of the skill is the fact that it costs a rock to obtain r1. I suppose that the repair process should consume some of the basic materials required for item creation.

The same (repair) benefits could apply to tailoring and handicraft.

In my opinion, every cash-shop item should have an in-game alternative, even if that alternative is difficult.

The bigger problem in blacksmithing right now is that all the products from it have severely dropped in both demand and prices, making it even harder to blacksmith.

On the other hand, events/generations updates sure made Tailoring and Handicraft far easier than before. Broniac makes Tailoring a joke now compared to back then.

Handicraft was just about rafting or mob hunting for things, it's not much easier at all now except because of the hammer event, my god, I got 200 woodboards off that, but it's not like thats a permanent thing, it threw thousands into the game, which were used fast, so now it's slumped again.

Blacksmithing is a srs LOLWAYTOOEASY thing now with Brionac though, you can make an arguement on its dura/AP usage, but still, why are you bothering with BS if you NEED more things to rank up.

I was speaking from the last 5 ranks of tailoriing. The different between Tailoring and Blacksmithing for Broniac is that Tailoring has less requirement types. If you get the great successes for Tailoring, you can Broniac your way through. Only takes like 1-3 Broniac per rank, maybe up to 7 if you do the regular successes for the last 5 ranks.

Blacksmithing on the other hand, you have to get 30% of each of the 3 types, usually one great success on some kind of armor and two regular success, one involving armors. It will take far greater broniacs, and you might need to do like 20+ broniacs per rank.

I spammed/brought out all the boards back then, I got an easy r6 handicraft with like hundreds of boards to spare.

This isn't true, you still need to do at least one third of the work before brionac becomes usable, and even then each usage only gives about 4.00-5.00 skill xp. It is actually quite taxing, both work and AP wise. This is especially because you are required to fill out multiple training methods like endless said.
