hii everyone!:awesome:
im making a lightning mage and the current important stats i have so far are..
r8 lightning
rf thunder
ra musical theory
rd composing
re music playing
currently 160-180int:::::total level 70-80ish
can someone please tell me if your not suppose to rank lightning or thunder to r1? i heard that there is a certain peak where you should stop...
also, is training healing and party healing good for the int/ap worth?
also if u reach 40+ every free rebirth, can yoou tell me what you guys do to go to that level? i get pretty bored spamming sm wiz...
Finally, what rank of thunder should i start doing rafting? and do you take the mp or mana herbs? how about balloon?

well, r1 Thunder/Lightning Bolt are both good to stop at... However, do you have mana pot problems?
r9 Thunder may be good enough to raft, but the higher the rank, the better. At r1, you can kill 4 goblins in one charge.
I just raft, do sm, and do whatever to get to level 40+ weekly. The higher the total level, it tends to be easier to do that.
Training your other bolts may give better int for the AP.
You should probably find a pot maker friend or something to make those 100 mana pots. Also, magic mastery does help in your int/mana/balance, which you seem to be lacking.

mm if i do rafting soloy for the exp, im sure i can make do with the 50mp pots,
all i need to do is abuse the pot poisoning + mana shield.
and yea, im planning to get r6 magic mastery i heard anymore would be a waste of ap

Well, Magic Mastery doesn't use that much AP, just adds a bit of CP.
Also, r1 would be good to get eventually, since more Max MP lets you make better use of potions and Mana tunnels and level up restorations.

Sweet. Another elemental-specific mage.
Rank your Magic Mastery asap if you're maging. The more MP = longer you can fight + less potting. Also, if you want to boost your lightning damage then fully enchant your equips with lightning elementals. It's not a drastic boost but it is fairly significant.
I can't really offer any advice on Lightning though since I'm pure Fire.

Not sure if this was said yet but, windmill should be ranked to at least 9 before the cp gets high.

IIRC That..doesn't really give your lightning magic a boost.
It will raise any damage you do if you're fighting monsters with ice or fire element, though against neutral you wont be doing any more.

Rank up your Magic Mastery too if you haven't.
To Meikeru; I'm a pure mage and alchemist, and I don't need to rank up windmill. Lol.

I've tested that theory myself and it does give a slight boost against elemental neutral monsters. I'm certain they simply amplify the elemental damage you do with according spells. I can't hit nowhere near as high against anything as I can with a fully fire enchanted set. Except for other fire monsters. I hit pretty low on them. But they also hit pretty low on me.

It does not. Any boost you might have got is experimental error. Elementals do not affect magic at all.

WM can still be useful no matter what class you are.. just in case a monster slips past your attacks, you can WM it away and continue what you were doing.

And when you run into Mana Defector.

asdasd69 wrote on 2010-11-13 16:41
run run away XD but i dont think pure mages ever go into dungeons with mana defector:<
well actually.. it depends on the level....
firebolt + counter works wonders and if that doesnt work.... play dead solves everything =X

The generation quests sometimes have mobs that have mana deflector. So wm works wonders there.
