This is my experience
LAG
LAG
LAG
LAG
LAG OUT
LAG
LAG and killed by boss
LAG
LAG
LAG
LAG
LAG OUT
Seriously what the hell.
I haven't been in one team game where there hasn't been a huge lag spike.
And then people say things like "Oh I know that's because I live in Central."
This is so annoying.

Try creating the game. You won't feel any lag, supposedly. However, for your party members, that is a different story. Many hosts have bad connections though.

Just make some friends with good hosts or like endlessdreams said, host it yourself. I used to run into lag problems joining random pugs, but I mostly host myself or let someone I know with good connection host.

Mine used to be soooo bad when I tried to play on east, and then I switched to west and it got better, but it still sucked.
Now my dad changed our ISP and stuff, and we have internet about 3x faster, so I can play better. My graphics card still sucks enough to make a lot of lag, though.

I usually just host, sometimes people lag with me sometimes they don't. Usually when people lag though they like to make you know they are lagging in means ways lol.

Which is kinda stupid imo. If you see you're having one bar when you join a boat, don't hope for 3+ bar during the actual mission :/
What I do when I join non rush boat: Check the number of bar, wait 10 or so sec to see if it goes up. If I have less than 2 bar on boat I quit. People who complain on the host are...oh well :D

Host your owns really the only option if you got a bad internet or are long distance from others on the server. Its just how peer 2 peer games tend to be. Lag wise I usually don't have problems on to many games and if I host its smooth as a whistle. A good host will not have lag.

I get 1 bar on good hosts anyways.. but I don't really feel the lag, usually.
It's weird because sometimes I get 3 bars and lag so much I can't attack.
I guess it's whether my laptop is close to overheating or not :U

Kazuni, it sounds like most of your problems are graphics lag problems related to your gfx card and not the network lag that the rest of us (mostly) are complaining about. Your laptop overheating is a sign that your gfx card is being overworked and not running efficiently, which is probably the same reason your game is chugging.
Try getting a cooling station for your laptop to see if that works.

Actually my laptop overheats way easily :I
After about 3-4 hours of uptime doing almost nothing it heats up to the point where it's kinda ouch to type.
And it
is graphics related xD My card absolutely sucks, but after getting an internet upgrade the lag is also much better. (doesn't make it any less irritating to play, though)
