10th Haruhi Suzumiya Light Novel Will Be Released This Year

The June issue of Kadokawa Shoten's The Sneaker magazine is confirming on Friday that the Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint plans to publish Nagaru Tanigawa's Suzumiya Haruhi no KyÅgaku (The Surprise of Haruhi Suzumiya) light novel this year. This 10th Haruhi Suzumiya light novel volume will be the first new one in three years. The same issue of The Sneaker is publishing an excerpt from the volume.

In a message in The Sneaker issue, Tanigawa reports that he has completed 75% to 80% of the novel. So far, he has written 370 pages in the novel's current draft; 400 characters can be written on each page of Japanese-style composition paper.

There might be an underground translation project. I think Baka-Tsuki might still translate it and release it in secret to fans, however I might still wait for the english light novels.

Assuming Yen Press continues releasing 2 novel translations per year, we'll be up to book 10 at the tail end of 2013~

Wow finally I can experience light novels thanks <3. Do you by any chance have scans of the Shakugan no Shana series light novel?

Yeah, I notice it got removed there. Luckily I downloaded them a long time ago and I had it on my anime blog for fans to read. I got a lot of traffic from it, but then Yen Press, the english company that translate the novels sent me a cease and desist email and made me take them down and got all the novels removed, however I re-uploaded them and posted them at my GoogleDocs. I just want to share the amazing light novels with Haruhi fans. I love it more than the anime and fans shouldn't just praise the anime.

Sadly no, there was a Baka-Tsuki project on it but they didn't have much progress. They translated a few chapters in the volumes and then had to remove them for the same reasons as the Haruhi light novels. The volumes were pretty hard to translate, there's an untranslated version of the novels out for download (found them on HongFire). Maybe some other project might translate it but it's been left untouched for so long.

Don't worry, Season III will be released, it's been confirmed that they are working on it. Currently they are releasing 4 OVAs (Shakugan no Shana S) and after those 4, we'll see Season III. The OVAs are just side-stories and it's pretty funny. At the moment, 2 OVAs are already released:

Oh! I totally forgot about the OVA's. And cool a 3rd season. I really want to see the end of the series though ._.

There's no end yet since there's 20 volumes (20th was released on April 10, 2010) released and it's still on-going. Sadly, the english version only has 2 volumes (last release was back in 2007).
