Would it be a good idea to go as half staff half scythe? Or actually, more of a scythe-ish kinda thing with some support. You know.

If you're willing to dish out the AP for it, I don't see why not.

Its not a problem at all. You just have maybe weaker attacks for both sides, but after a long while, you will have both maxed.

After you get ~20k AP, you should have more than enough to go hybrid.
However, until then, going hybrid butchers your effectiveness.

I'm working on kinda a hybrid build. Like I buy both staff and scythe and I work on passives first.
It works for me, so I just use scythe 90% of the time and maybe staff if I feel like it. But seriously, staff is kinda weak, if I go staff I basically become a heal slave.

If you could change weapons in a dungeon, sure why not. But since you can't, I'll say no, it makes you a weaker evie in general (until you get enough ap to max out all the core skills for one of the weapons).

Hybrid Evie is NP at all because, now that we are all max level and have nothing better to do, we can just pump AP into the stuff we don't have.... I am primarily staff, so i made sure all my staff related skills were maxed and started pumping AP into the scythe skills and then the skills that let me wear light armor. You don't have to do this but i think it will make you much more durable when you solo. I now prefer to use scythe when i solo and staff in party. The more options you have the better. Also staff evie's, having basic scythe skills is pro for doing Blood Prince ore mining runs. You can easily blink to avoid hits from the red Bearer when luring him and if you screw up luring the mob away as well you can use a basic rank F spirit bind to distract him wile you mine. the extra 40-50k you spend on the skills is worth it for farming gold ore alone...

The hybrid Evy is actually easier to achieve than the Hybrid Lann or Hybrid Fiona. You only need 10460 AP to finish all of the core scythe skills (Smash r7, Magical Critical Hits rA, Magic Mastery rA, Intelligence Mastery rA, Agility Mastery rA, SP: Insane Reaper rA, Combat Mastery r7, Bloody Thread rA, Mark of Death rA, Blink rA, Scythe Proficiency rC).
For a Staffie you need 10420 AP to get the core skills for damage dealing (Magic Arrow r9, Stamina Recovery r7, Firebolt rA, Eagle Talon r9, Magic Mastery rA, Magical Critical Hits rA, Intelligence Mastery rA, Agility Mastery rA, SP: Blind Arrow rA, Staff Mastery rC). If you want to go support type, you add an extra 760 AP to get healing to rA for 11180 AP.
Completely Hybrid Evy takes 17400 AP, but this leaves out the golem skills, standing endurance, and revive.

Also leaves out Strength Mastery and Agility Mastery, since you're talking about every skill that would kinda be worth ranking.
Jerain, if you've played Mabinogi and kinda know the recommended path to go was, the same applies for Vindictus. In Mabinogi there's no class restriction on any skill, so you could technically be a jack of all trades (Combat, Archery, Magic, and Alchemy), but that was discouraged since it would make dealing with higher better dungeons more difficult. The fastest way to become strong was to invest everything into one branch so that you could take on the higher dungeons and earn AP and level more easily. Typically people went all combat first, and then branched out into magic, archery, and alchemy, once they were powerful in Combat and capable of leveling extremely quickly.
Since you can only take one weapon into a dungeon, if you go true hybrid from the very start you're gonna face serious challenges unless you 4-man party everything. You'll be ranks behind in Smash Mastery as Scythe and dealing craptastic damage as a Staff Evie...
So, it is recommended to go all out in one branch and then once you're comfortable and can contribute to the fullest extent to a party or solo well, and have a tooon of AP, you can become hybrid.

If we're talking about hybrid weapon skills (cutting out shared skills) I'd say Lann is the easiest. It only takes maxed Fury Infusion and however much Twin Spear you need to be done with the spear part. After that all your AP will be dedicated to sword anyways.
It's not really a good idea to half finish the skills for both weapons. Finish the skills in one weapon scythe and then use that until you have strong skills for the other weapon set. It's always nice to be hybrid for any class since both weapons are always quite different and more useful in different situations.

You can only use one weapon at a time... so you can't do a hybrid.
Eventually you'll have enough AP to do both, and then you can do whatever weapon you want -- and you should.
But there's no such thing as a hybrid. You're either one or the other at any given time.
