Gliding Fury Confusion

  Well I always see these pro videos of spear Lanns soloing quite easy and I noted that a major cause of their success is their performance of gliding fury. They seem to do hurricane and then GF the boss. However, they GF the boss in a way that when theyre done, they are on the opposite side of the boss and not right in front of it where they can get hit.
  
  Now(I'm a spear Lann) I've been trying but I can't seem to slide "past" the boss with GF. Everytime, I try to 360 it only by hitting it's "side" but I somehow always end up in front of the boss after GF. It feels as if no matter how "far" away I am when I gf, it autolocks onto the boss and goes in front. I'm pretty sure I don't have auto lock boss on but I can never GF past the bosses ):
  
  Oh yeah also, you know how you sometimes need to GF completely AWAY FROM THE BOSS to escape an attack? I can't even do that... I look away from the boss but it automatically goes back to the boss. Am I supposed to control the direction with WASD?

  NOTE: How I do it is. I'm facing away from the boss or to the edge of it. The mouse is making the camera look left or something. But when GF activates, despite my camera facing left , it goes back right(Where the boss is) instead of GFing left.

  change to attack in direction of mouse or something like that you can look it up in baku's guide of fiona it explains how to do that i think for a fiona

  You need to control the direction of GF with WASD, relative to where the camera is pointing at the time of activating.

  Options -> Advanced Settings -> Uncheck Auto Lock on Bosses, IIRC

  Gliding/Lightning Fury's direction can be controlled with your movement keys.
  
  I keep a reflex in my head to instantly hold "A" or "D" whenever I land Smashes on a boss.
