I'm now finally employed. After five months of looking for work where practically no one is hiring, and the one place that was hiring the entire five months isn't doing a good job at looking for help, since it's been only five months and the manager only looks at and makes calls maybe once a week. But whenever I saw a "Hiring" sign or a Help Wanted ad in the paper, I went and applied. So, after these five months, I finally landed an interview, and apparently did a good job at it, since I just got the call saying that I start work tomorrow at 8.
I'll be working as a helper in the deli at a general store known for their meats. For now, I'll be helping unloading a truck loaded with meat and bringing it into the freezer (apparently close to a ton or so of meat), and when there's no deliveries, I'll probably be packaging and learning how to cut steak and things like it, with the occasional task of working at the register if need be.
But yea, I'm really excited, not just because I can now say I have a job, which can help me get better jobs in the future, but I'm now not going to be thrown out onto the streets because my dad doesn't want a NEET in the house. But we'll see where this goes. As long as I don't burn the store down to the ground, I should be employed for at least a month.
Plus, who knows. This might give me enough courage and self-esteem to actually go out and enlist in the Army (since unless I fast for 6 days out of the 7 in the week, and/or focus purely on body building, I'll be too big for the Air Force) like I wanted to do when I graduated out of High School.

Congrats on being employee. Practically any (legit) jobs is better than none!

I'd say that's a pretty nice job given the situation. Working around yummy foods all day is a good thing.

Wow, thanks for the support guys. Like I said, as long as I don't burn the place down to the ground, I should be set until I'm ready to move on. Plus it should be relatively easy, since I'm used to moving a literal ton within a day.

Congratz.
Btw, not trying to pour water on your dreams, but don't you need perfect vision if you want to join the airforce? (I assume you want to be a pilot?)

Never wanted to be a pilot. Up until last year, I had a terrible, almost ridiculous, fear of heights, so flying was out of the question. But you can do more than just pilot a fighter jet in the Air Force. I originally wanted to be an Aerospace engineer, so the Air Force would have been the right place to go, but now, if I do join the Air Force, it'll be because I don't want to fight in Afghanistan.

If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight! Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little bit more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor.

No, it's the worst job ever. You have all that delicious meat around you and you can't eat it. That is the worst kind of torture for me ;_______;
Congrats on the Job Arsik, and good luck with your future projects.
